Just a few minutes on the ferry (load your bicycle too) will take you to Cijin Island and a slightly longer, more plush ferry trip (no bicycles) will take you to Xian Liu Qui, home of some very relaxed sea turtles. What an experience it was to float around with them, snorkel and goggles allowing us to watch them gliding around under the water totally ignoring us humans.

Taking the ferry, bicycles and all, across Kaohsiung Harbour to Qijin Town on Cijin Island. The town was founded by fisherman in the 17th century.
Cycling out of town to find lunch and to see Qihou Fort, built in the 18th century to protect Kaohsiung Harbour.
Every island needs a surf school....
And a "Sunset Bar".....
Where one can drink delicious ciders and ponder the meaning of life...
